Seven Seafood Recipes for Your Cinco de Mayo Celebration

Cinco de Mayo seafood recipesA celebration of Mexico’s victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that many Americans like to participate in as well. Often used as a chance to explore Mexican culture – and of course Mexican food – there are many incredible dishes you can prepare if you are hosting a Cinco de Mayo celebration this year.

Here at Cape Porpoise Lobster Co. we are fans of incorporating seafood into almost every meal we eat, which is why we have put together a list of our top seven seafood dishes to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with.

Lobster Guacamole

If you are a guacamole fan, Cinco de Mayo is the right time to indulge in a fancy version of this yummy dish. All you have to do is boil your lobsters for five minutes, chop it up and chill it. As the lobster meat is chilling, blend together your other ingredients, and then toss in the freshly cooked lobster meat when it has cooled.

Your guests will enjoy the added flair and rich flavor your guacamole offers.

Shrimp and Crab Nachos

Another crowd-pleasing appetizer we love are shrimp and crab nachos. Simple to make, just sauté your shrimp in a mixture of cumin and garlic and combine it with the crab meat and green onions before covering your tortilla chips in the mixture.

Topped with cheese and broiled in the oven a few minutes before guests are set to arrive, everyone is sure to enjoy munching on this delicious snack while enjoying crisp Coronas with lime.

Not sure what toppings to include? Grilled avocado slices, shredded cabbage, chopped cilantro and salsa are just a few of the many options you can try.
